20th Annual Beachcomber Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society
(*Thank you to all those who have participated in our past 19 events! Because of your generosity we have raised in excess of $260,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research and the American Cancer Society. Last year we raised $31,780 for the A.C.S.!)
For this year's tournament we will be donating all net funds to the American Cancer Society.
"The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service."
We have reserved Sunday September 9, 2012 at Chequessett Yacht & Country Club in Wellfleet, Ma. for this year's event and look forward to seeing you there.
(Our goal for this year's tournament is $35,000.)
This year's tournament is sure to be the best to date and a wonderful, exiting day for both the paricipants and the ACS. In our last tournament 72 golfers teed off at Chequessett Country Club, played 18, and then congregated in the function room for our annual banquet and awards ceremony. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin (2 holes), and longest drive (men's and women's). Prizes will also awarded for "low net" for the top 4 foursomes. We get lots of donations from local businesses, which are raffled off, at the banquet. Raffle prizes included some great artwork, various golf related items, and many gift certificates from local merchants.
Donations include greens fees, cart, snack, and banquet following the tournament.
Your participation will help us continue the battle against cancer. What better way to have a little fun, while truly making a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and adults!!
